Rick Chmura
Rick Chmura was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Parma in 1964 and attended Valley Forge High School, graduating in 1967. In 1971, Rick married his wife Beth. Rick and Beth moved into their current home in Brook Park, Ohio in 1973. They have raised two children, a son and a daughter, and have four grandchildren. The Chmuras have been married for 39 years.
Rick Chmura has extensive hands-on and management experience in Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement. He is a certified Lean Expert and Six Sigma Black Belt. Rick has also been certified by the American Society for Quality as a Quality Manager and a Quality Auditor.
As a Continuous Improvement Change Agent, Rick Chmura educates, leads, and facilitates companies, teams, and individuals to eliminate waste and defects from everything they do. He has a BBA (1986) and an MBA (1995) from Cleveland State University.
Rick’s background and education, his attention to detail and quality assurance, has carried over well and is now an integral component of Chmura Custom Woodworks’ focus on quality and craftsmanship in custom designed furnishings and home remodeling and improvement.
Rick’s computer skills, particularly his strength in Access Database and Excel Spreadsheet development and programming, along with his proficiency in Minitab, has translated well. The addition of the ShopBot CNC router, only two in the entire area, has allowed Rick to apply his computer savvy and know how at Chmura Custom Woodworks; thus, taking Chmura Custom Woodworks to the next level in the application of custom design and custom woodworking.
Rick Chmura is a Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers fan. He is also an avid bowler with a 194 average and has rolled a perfect 300 game! Rick is active in his community. He plays softball in the over-50 league in North Royalton, Ohio, plays guitar in his church’s contemporary band, and is a member of the Brook Park Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Bryan Chmura
Bryan Chmura is a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, born in Brook Park, Ohio, and graduating from Berea High School in 1993. Bryan’s strong passion for industrial design led him to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He graduated with honors in 1995 with an AAS in industrial design.
In 1995, Bryan return to Ohio and accepted a position designing and engineering large-scale inflatables for Inflatable Images. Bryan’s experience designing and engineering inflatables led to an opportunity to consult with a small, but growing company in Columbia, South America.
Upon returning to the United States, Bryan accepted a position with Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company as a model maker. Bryan’s experience at Royal allowed him to develop strong problem solving, machining, and manufacturing process skills.
Bryan has always had a passion for building and creating things from the bottom up. As his father Rick put it, “Bryan is happiest when he is creating!”
Bryan Chmura has a strong commitment to quality work, being and doing the best possible work regardless of the size of the project or its complexity.
Bryan began woodworking as a hobby more than a decade ago. His first project, a dartboard cabinet, led to building kitchen cabinets for a renovation in Lakewood, Ohio. From then on Bryan was hooked!
For more than a decade, Bryan’s life has had a strong woodworking presence. Beginning in his garage, working on small projects for friends and family, what started as a hobby quickly turned into a full-fledged custom woodworking business.
After 10 years with Royal Appliance the decision was made for Bryan, being laid off due to a struggling economy. Bryan knew that in order to survive he would have to fall back on the skills and life experiences that, in retrospect, all pointed to just one thing…the creation of Chmura Custom Woodworks!
